Persian Manuscripts Exhibition in London

With the Persian new year (noruz), my Persian illumination teacher Farkhondeh Ahmadzadeh had her first solo exhibition -Haft Payker- in the Prince's School of Traditional Arts in London. The exhibition's concept is derived from the seven princesses poetry by the Persian poet Nizami. Each princess had a day of the week, a colour, a number, a shape and a planet. Farkhondeh Ahmadzadeh touched on all of that in her work and represented it beautifully. All the pieces were done by hand including the paper and natural colours preparations. To read more about a similar making process check the tutorial I published a while ago after attending a couple of classes with Farkhondeh Ahmadzadeh.
